Once upon a time, in the years of irrationality, it used to be that Northerners hate Jonathan and don't want him to complete his tenure.... They want the power back in the north, hence the trouble here and there..
Did you notice that ever since Chief terror founder Ahmodu Sherrif returned to his castle under the "umbrella," the shout and rant of the "broom" sponsoring the rogues in Sambisa forest have been fading? Such is the power of propaganda that even those who profess to be intelligent could not resist joining the mob.
Today, we have seen Northerners threaten hell if Jonathan loses the election and we have watched a prominent Northern Governor directed his supporters in Katsina to kill the Opposition who he called "cockroach" We have seen how Northerners and in facts Muslims have been campaigning for Jonathan even in the midst of tragedy that is befalling them.
Not stopping there, we have seen Catholics donated to Buhari Campaign and many Christians including those from the south vigorously campaigning for Buhari, Atiku and even Kwankwaso...
Where are the conspiracy theorists who spent years confusing themselves and fermenting hate among their own people? While I admits that we still have some irredentist tribalists and religion bigots who are promoting sectarianism, the truth is that majority of Nigerians are only interested in someone who will better their lives and restore sanity to the country.
As the 2015 elections draws nearer, Nigerians should know who their real enemies are. Your enemy is not Jonathan, Buhari or Atiku or Kwakwaso. Your enemy is not Jega.. You enemy is not Hausa, Igbo, Ijaw or Yoruba...Your enemies are the people who will come to you and ask you to hate someone or a tribe simply because he want you to vote his choice of candidate at the poll. Your enemies are the pseudo-intellectuals that would collect brown envelopes from Politicians in the dark hours while encouraging crisis, chaos and confusion in the day. Your enemies are those people surrounding the leaders and preventing them from seeing the reality on ground.
Go and collect your PVC, it is your power. And don't let anyone hijack your sense. A single thumb could decide your collective destiny in the next four years. Don't join the mob!
As for those people spewing lies and manufacturing confusion on social media while turning friends to foes over the upcoming elections; and those encouraging thuggery and terror; I gift you the words of Anton Chekhov “You have lost your reason and taken the wrong path.
