I woke up this morning (November 1st
) and found that some people are still carrying over their January into every month
till November and haven't realised they have been moving like ceiling fans all
these while.
They fan their fantasies even though
smarter people in the room have learned to ignore them and go for
air-conditioning machine. The problem however is that some hapless folks who
can't afford air-conditioners are "managing" to rely on these
"fans" for "fresh air" while smartly using their
"filas" and "geles" to mop up the salty mist on their
brows.
Political spin-doctors, psychopaths
and sycophants are growing at alarming rate. It seems to me that Nigerian
universities/polytechnics are producing more spin-doctors than scientists and
inventors. Oh my bad! They are producing
inventors, actually. But these extra-genius inventors are channelling their
hard-earned knowledge toward fabricating lies, propaganda and rumours for
discredited politicians, religion dogmas and of course for ethnic
irredentist. It is a tragedy to a nation blessed with limitless talents that
such talents that could be channelled toward scientific inventions/innovations are now
ingeniously deployed toward fabrication of lies, wicked comedy
and confusion in the land.
The hapless majority who have no keen
sense of understanding of how their country works are the ones consuming these
propaganda and lies with wanton edacity. They are the ones taking up the fight
against one another instead of their oppressors; they are the one being used to
prosecute ethno-religious strifes while their sponsors, godfathers sit inside
their comfort zone and negotiate how to share power and common wealth of the people
among themselves.
Power must return to the north even
if it means handling the power to a hungry Lion. Power must stay in the south
even it means allowing Vultures to feast upon the head of the livings.
Ethno-preneurial politicians are aggressively positioning their brands in people's sub-consciousness, while many unsuspecting people buy into them with label-Patriotsm. People no longer ask: "what are your plans and
strategies toward tackling the problems in the land". The more prevailing
questions today, however are "what tribe do you belong?" Which foreign
university have you attended (even if it is Toronto or Chicago" what do
you have for the boys on election days" etc
If only the masses can at least learn
to understand, the simple concept, that
their unity is one crucial factor in getting quality leaders, who will respect
them and serve them diligently, if only. Politicians only thrive on disunity of
the people and controversies. Fanning the ember of conflict; they divide and
confuse the masses while eventually, the most cunning of them will emerge
victorious in the final hour.
I am watching the Anambra preparation
for the election as well some happening in politics in preparation for 2015
elections. And I can see many Dr. Lies, Prof. Propaganda, Deacon Confusions,
Sheikh Threats Alagba Rituals, Mr. Thugs/Kidnappers and their willing students.
Truth is now undergoing serious
artificial scarcity in the land where majority claim to yearn for the truth. But tell the truth and watch them tear you apart for your daring exploit.
You wake up one morning, you hear
that someone slap a priest. And the next morning, the priest will say he wasn't
slapped. You will read that someone bought a car and inflated the cost and the
next morning, the accused will say the car was bought for the visiting
dignitaries and ghosts. You will read that a country is broke and then the reply will be
it has "cash-flow problem". You hear someone robbed his people, then
his people will retort, "shebi your son stole and he enjoyed his loot, let our
own son also enjoy his."
It is now becoming theatres of the
absurd. No one knows who is right or wrong. But those few who still have
functional reasoning faculty will do well to not stop talking. Who knows, there
may be some converts who will see the "light" and turn away from
their "abductors."
Right now, the most frightening wave
of kidnapping is not in the physical form. It is in mental form. Politicians
are kidnapping people's sense of reasoning, no thank to these genius experts
helping them "invent" the absurdities and selling it so cheaply to all that are
suffering from cognitive poverty. Even
though all that is needed to purchase
truth is a short walk down the path of reality.
To the Dr. Lies, Prof. Propaganda, Deacon Confusions, Sheikh Threats Alagba Rituals, Mr. Thugs/Kidnappers Saint Troubles, know that your job will only last maximum of 8 years in
corridor of power and you will return to the stretched arm of Karma and reap
from what you cultivated. And to the masses, ready to trade their future for the cost
of T-shirts branded Rice and ethnic jingoism, you will live long enough to enjoy the
services of the people you voted!
